New Systems Monitor Golf Course Water Use (Arizona Republic)

TroonNorthSome local golf courses are taking their water use much more seriously, and a Pennsylvania company is helping them keep track of every drop.

The company makes UgMO, or underground monitoring, systems that help golf courses use water more efficiently.

“This is the future,” said Walter N. Norley, CEO of Advanced Sensor Technology. In drought-prone areas such as Arizona, the systems can save as much as 40 percent of water costs, he said.
